Cytology involves examining cells under the microscope to better understand what is happening in your pet’s skin, ears, or masses. At Prism Integrative Veterinary Health, cytology is a key tool for assessing infections, inflammation, and certain types of tumors. It allows us to move beyond guesswork and choose more targeted, effective treatments.
We may use cytology to evaluate skin lesions, ear infections, lumps and bumps, or non‑healing areas. Results help guide whether your pet needs topical therapy, systemic medications, further imaging, or biopsy.
